Pawan Kalyan’s “OG” has completed 11 days in theaters and is now the highest-grossing film of his career. It is also on track to become the top-grossing Telugu film of 2025, overtaking “Sankranthiki Vasthunam.”
The producers of Sankranthiki Vasthunam had claimed a Rs 300 crore worldwide gross, inflating the numbers despite the film being a genuine blockbuster. In reality, the actual earnings were significantly lower than the reported figures. Similarly, the makers of “OG” have also released posters with exaggerated numbers, but the film has collected less than what was officially promoted.
Despite the inflated claims, “OG” is poised to surpass the final gross of “Sankranthiki Vasthunam,” making it the biggest Telugu hit of the year so far. Among the upcoming releases, only “Akhanda 2” appears to have the potential to challenge its position.
In North America, “OG” has crossed $5.5 million and turned into a highly profitable venture for its distributor. However, in the domestic Telugu market, the film has yet to enter the profit zone due to its high distribution costs.
Directed by Sujeeth, “OG” is a gangster drama featuring Pawan Kalyan as Ojas Gambheera and Priyanka Mohan as the female lead, Kanmani. Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi plays the antagonist. Meanwhile, the director also promised to continue the franchise of OG, though there is no definite start plan.
