Om Namo Venkatesaya: Huge disaster

Nagarjuna’s ‘Om Namo Venkatesaya’ is turning out to be bigger flop than some of Nag’s earlier disasters like ‘Bhai’. The devotional flick has failed to attract the audiences to bring them to the theaters. The collections are paltry from the day one and have not improved much.

Nagarjuna’s earlier devotional flick ‘Annamayya’ got poor openings but the movie picked up its collections later and went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters. Trade hoped the same. But it has not showing any growth even as the movie is coming to end its first week run. The other day, the film registered lowest ever collection for a big movie.

In Nizam area, distributor Dil Raju is expected to incur the losses around Rs 5 cr. The overseas distributor is losing 100 percent on the investment.

2017 has begun on a great note with majority of movies turning out to be blockbusters. Chiranjeevi with ‘Khaidi No 150’ and Balakrishna with ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ delivered blockbusters. But this movie has put breaks to Nagarjuna’s success streak.
