Ram Charan’s “Peddi” is all set to hit theaters on June 4, with the countdown already underway. The film is aiming for a strong impact in North India as well, thanks to its Hindi release.
Ram Charan made a solid impression in the Hindi market with “RRR”, but his subsequent films did not sustain that momentum. He is now pinning high hopes on “Peddi”, which is said to carry a universal theme. The buzz around the film has been positive so far.
However, “Peddi” will face competition from a Bollywood release arriving the same weekend. “Hai Jawani Hai To Ishq Hai”, starring Varun Dhawan, is slated to release on June 5. The film features Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur as the female leads, both playing glamorous roles and actively promoting the film.
While it may not pose a direct threat to “Peddi” at the box office, the Bollywood film could divert some attention in the Hindi belt.
Interestingly, Pooja Hegde earlier appeared in a special song in Ram Charan’s “Rangasthalam”. Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur was reportedly considered for a special song in “Peddi” but opted out.
