The centenary of Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), a highly revered figure in Telugu film industry, was commemorated with magnificence on September 20th of this year. A commemorative stamp honoring ANR was issued.
In his latest “Mann Ki Baat” radio show, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid respect to ANR, along with other legends whose birth centenaries were commemorated this year.
In his monthly radio broadcast, the Prime Minister praised Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) for advancing Telugu cinema to “newer heights,” stating, “his films elegantly portrayed Indian traditions and values.”
Akkineni Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Modi on social media for his considerate gesture.
