Unlike in Bollywood, activist celebs are fewer to come by in the Telugu film industry. The likes of those who are actively engaged in some cause throughout the year (like Amala Akkineni), are a rarity here. Of late, big stars like Victory Venkatesh have admirably associated themselves with marathons like 10K Run.
Actor Prince has joined this small league of celebs by supplying 200 saplings for free to Shilparamam, Hyderabad on World Earth Day. The actor has said that planting saplings is the need of the hour in these times of environmental pollution. “If everyone plants a sapling, we can prevent pollution to a great extent. With the aim of bringing awareness in public, I have volunteered to do this. I urge everyone to please plant saplings,” Prince said.
One hopes more and more mini-celebs, celebs and super-celebs will emulate the example of Prince and do their bit to promote environmental consciousness.
