Senior actress Priyamani is returning to Telugu films after a gap. The actress who got married two years ago has been staying away from Tollywood. But she’s making a comeback in a powerful role.
In a live chat on Instagram, Priyamani revealed that she is playing the role of a Naxalite in Rana Daggubati starrer ‘Virata Parvam’ which is on the sets. Directed by Venu Udugula, ‘Virata Parvam’ has stopped its shooting due to the lockdown restrictions. The period drama has Sai Pallavi playing the role of a folk singer. Rana appears as a naxals leader.
Set in the 1990’s Naxal-infested Telangana region, the drama also has Nandita Das in a key role. Priyamani said she’s looking forward to joining the sets again.
Priyamani enjoyed her status as a leading actress in Tollywood a decade ago. She has recently gained prominence with a web series ‘Family Man’.
