Superstar Rajinikanth was conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke award for his outstanding contribution to the world of cinema. He received the award, the highest honor of the film industry, from Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu at New Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan today.
He attended the ceremony with his wife Latha, daughter Aishwarya, and his son-in-law Dhanush, who also received National Award as Best Actor for his performance in the Tamil movie ‘Asuran’, on the same dais.
Rajinikanth recalled his journey from a bus conductor to a renowned actor. Rajinikanth dedicated the award to his producers, directors, film fraternity, and fans.
Telugu producer Naga Vamsi also received the National Award for Best Telugu film, Jersey, from the hands of Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.
