Top stars such as Megastar Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, and Pawan Kalyan have faced widespread criticism for preferring remakes to original stories. Chiranajeevi addressed this issue at the “Bholaa Shankar” pre-release event on Sunday.
Chiranjeevi acknowledged the criticism. “Bholaa Shankar” is a remake of the Tamil film “Vedalam”. Despite the fact that “Vedalam” was a huge hit, critics felt the story and narration were cliched. However, Megastar Chiranjeevi stated that the Tamil film had a strong story.
“A lot of people questioned my decision to do remakes. My argument is that remakes are acceptable if the original material is strong enough,” he said.
Chiranjeevi also mentioned that “Bholaa Shankar” has an advantage because ‘Vedalam’ is not available on any OTT platforms.
“I have complete faith in this subject. We were already anticipating a smash hit while shooting. With Keerthy and Tamannah on set, it was always lively,” he added.
Meher Ramesh directed “Bholaa Shankar” is set to be released on August 11.
