Samantha wants to play meaningful roles

Samantha Akkineni has made it clear that she wants to be choosy about her roles/films. After doing films like ‘Rangasthalam’, ‘Mahanati’, ‘Irumbu Thirai’ and ‘U Turn’, her perspective has undergone a sea change. She no longer finds any interest in utterly meaningless roes.

Of course, this doesn’t mean the 31-year old actress doesn’t want to do glamorous roles. Only that she will prefer films that give her enough scope to perform.

By starting to dub her voice, Samantha is adding a new tonality to her characters. After ‘Mahanati’, ‘U Turn’ is another film where she is speaking.  This Sept 13, Sam wants a success not just for herself but also her husband, whose ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’ is also hitting the cinemas on the same date.
