The negations are still on. But the buzz in the trade is that the makers of ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ have decided to release their movie on 11th January at any cost since they are not getting the sufficient number of theaters on 12th January.
Leading distributor Dil Raju will once again resume discussions on Saturday with the makers of ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ to avoid a direct clash with ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ on January 11. If Dil Raju allots 60 percent of theaters to ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramlo’ on the day of its release, the makers will happily stick to their original plan of releasing it on January 12. If he doesn’t provide the required number of theaters, the clash between these two movies will not be averted.
Dil Raju bought the Nizam and Vizag rights of ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ and ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ for Rs 33 crore and Rs 26 crore respectively. He has invested 59 crores in these two movies.
Let’s hope that the last-minute negotiations end on a positive note. Clarity about the release dates will emerge tomorrow.
