Shakeela cries foul over Seelavathi censor issue

This generation doesn’t much about Shakeela but the youth of 90’s and early 2000’s know the stardom she had enjoyed. She set box-office on fire in Kerala with her adult films. At one period, she challenged the supremacy of Kerala’s superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal. Later she acted in Telugu films (mostly in Teja’s movies).

Shakeela has now completed her 250th movie titled ‘Seelavathi’. The film has completed its shoot and is gearing up for release but has landed in censor problems.

Regional censor board objected over the title and asked the director Sri Raam Dasari and producers to come up with another title. ‘Seelavathi’ means chaste woman. What is wrong in this title asks Shakeela. She cries foul.

The film is said to be a supernatural thriller. She requests censor board to watch the film in entirety and take a decision. Since she has released trailer and did promotions with this title, it is unfair to ask to change the title at this moment, Shakeela said.
