Tamil Superstar Suriya has become the first South Indian actor to get invited to be a member of the prestigious the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the year 2022. Along with Suriya, Bollywood actress Kajol and director Reema Kagti received invitations from the Academy to become members this year.
Ghosh and Thomas, whose ‘Writing With Fire’ was nominated in the best documentary feature category recently, also got invitations.
The class 2022 members will vote for the upcoming Oscar awards, which will be presented in March 2023. This year more than 300 new members received an invitation. From India, four celebrities received the invitation.
