Suriya vs Sangh: the online war in full swing

Tamil superstar Suriya has now become a target of Sangh Parivar and right-wing groups online. They are trolling him over his recent statement of ‘Let us sow love’. Some of them have even demanded to boycott Suriya’s upcoming film ‘Aakasam Nee Haddhu Ra’ (Soorarai Pottru in Tamil). There is also talk that Suriya might skip the film its theatrical release and go for direct digital release. 

Some years ago, Suriya’s wife Jyothika made a statement that donations should be given to hospitals and schools instead of placing them in hundi of temples. This old video surfaced now and Hindu organizations have slammed Jyothik and demanded an apology. Backing his wife, Suriya said that schools and hospitals as important as temples. 

He also said a communal narrative is being built over an old statement made by his wife. 

However, this has not gone well with the right-wing groups and they have not stopped trolling Suriya. Now, Suriya’s fans have begun trending a hashtag in his support.
