Swayambhu: Nikhil Siddhartha oversees massive VFX work

Nikhil Siddhartha’s ambitious period action drama “Swayambhu” has faced multiple release postponements, leading to speculation about the project’s status. Initially planned for release in 2025, the film was later shifted to February, then April 10, before being postponed indefinitely.

The delay also sparked rumors that the makers were struggling to secure a favorable OTT deal. However, Nikhil Siddhartha has now clarified that the film is still deep in post-production, with extensive VFX work currently underway.

Directed by Bharat Krishnamachari, “Swayambhu” revolves around a legendary warrior connected to India’s Sengol lore. The film stars Nikhil alongside Samyuktha Menon and Nabha Natesh. Although shooting was completed months ago, the makers are reportedly focusing heavily on delivering high-quality visual effects.

Nikhil recently shared a video of himself visiting Chennai-based PhantomFX studio along with cinematographer K.K. Senthil Kumar to supervise the ongoing VFX work.

“700 VFX shots, 750 CG artists working nonstop, targeting the highest quality output,” Nikhil stated while updating fans about the film’s progress.

He also assured audiences that the release date would be finalized only after the team is fully satisfied with the final output.
