Prabhas-starrer “The Raja Saab” has almost completed its theatrical run, ending on a highly disappointing note. Released on January 9, the film was the first major Telugu release of 2026 and kicked off the Sankranthi festival season amid massive hype. However, it ultimately turned out to be a disastrous outing at the box office.
The film received largely negative reviews and audience feedback right from its opening day. Despite director Maruthi expressing confidence that collections would pick up and word-of-mouth would improve in the following days, the situation failed to change. With the release of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, and Anaganaga Oka Raju, audiences virtually forgot about The Raja Saab’s presence in theatres.
As a result, the film did not witness any significant jump in collections during the festive period or over the weekend. By the end of its first ten days, it had completely run out of steam. The producer is now in the process of assessing the total losses, which are said to run into several crores.
Made on a massive budget exceeding Rs 300 crore, “The Raja Saab” has delivered extremely poor returns. It is also being counted among the lowest-grossing films in Prabhas’s career. The film is also first big flop of 2026.
The horror drama starred Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Riddhi Kumar in key roles and was produced by TG Vishwa Prasad.
