Director Maruthi landing the opportunity to direct a pan-Indian star like Prabhas itself came as a surprise to many. What added to the curiosity was his choice of genre, a horror-comedy, which is often considered outdated and overused.
Naturally, questions were raised about what new elements “The Raja Saab” could bring to the table. Many wondered whether the film would end up being a rehash of earlier horror-comedy hits.
Addressing these concerns, Maruthi expressed strong confidence in the project and dismissed comparisons with past films.
He stated that “The Raja Saab” is not a repetition of existing templates and promises a fresh take within the genre. According to him, the film introduces surprises and a clear novelty factor, blending horror with fantasy in a distinctive manner.
Starring Prabhas, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhhi Kumar, “The Raja Saab” is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 8. The film is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner.
