This weekend, two notable Telugu films are hitting the theaters, coinciding with the Holi festival. Although multiple films are in the fray, Kiran Abbavaram’s “Dilruba” and Priyadarshi starrer “Court” have generated buzz.
“Dilruba” is a love story with action and a love triangle. Directed by Viswa Karun, it deals with Siddhu, played by Kiran Abbavaram, and his love affairs with two girls, played by Rukshar Dhillon and Nazia Davison aka Kathy Davison. The film, set against the backdrop of a college campus, has generated good buzz with the promotions and recently released teaser.
“Dilruba” will be the first choice for the audiences this weekend. Kiran Abbavaram is confident that the film will strike a chord with the youth and family audiences.
Telugu cinema has not produced many court dramas. “Court: State vs. a Nobody” is a legal drama that talks about POCSO law and the misuse of it by certain forces to implicate a young guy. Priyadarshi plays the lawyer. Jagadish directs the film, Prasanthi Tippirneni produces it, and Natural Star Nani presents it.
The makers are holding premiere shows two days before the release, and that shows their confidence in the film.
