According to media reports, Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi, who married on November 1 at a village resort in Tuscany, Italy, sold the rights to stream their wedding celebrations to an OTT platform. Several media outlets went so far as to speculate on the amount.
According to some reports, an OTT platform paid Rs 5 Crore for it. Some reports mentioned the amount as Rs 10 Crore. Another publication, on the other hand, said that Lavanya Tripathi’s and her relatives’ clothes were sponsored by another brand.
Overall, these media accounts portrayed Varun Teja and Lavanya’s wedding as more of a film event than a celebration of a marriage of hearts.
Hence, Varun Tej issued a statement saying that these reports are false and wholly fabricated.
The statement reads: “The ongoing speculations around the OTT rights of #VarunTej & #LavanyaTripathi’s wedding are completely baseless and untrue. Requesting everyone not to believe in such rumours and spread them. – Team #VarunTej”
