Vishwaksen faced trolling for his previous film Laila, which drew criticism for its excessive double-meaning dialogues and cringe-worthy sequences, eventually prompting him to issue a public apology to fans and audiences. Determined to take control of his creative direction, he is now stepping behind the camera once again.
After previously directing films like Falaknuma Das and Das Ka Dhamki, Vishwaksen returns as director for a new project titled #CULT. He has also written the story for the film.
“Cult” will be produced by Karate Raju (Vishwaksen’s father) and Sandeep Kakarala under the banners of Tarak Cinemas and Vanmaye Creations.
Touted as a new-age party thriller, “Cult” aims to break away from conventional storytelling. The announcement poster features the protagonist wearing a goat mask, teasing the film’s offbeat tone and mysterious elements.
Today, the launched the film at Ramanaidu Studios and Vishwaksen will be introducing 40 newcomers with this project. Tharun Bhascker will pen the dialogue, while Ravi Basrur, known for his work in KGF and Salaar, will be composing the music. Gayatri Bhardwaj is the female lead.
