‘Dear Comrade’ won mixed reviews and the word-of-mouth is also similar. Its long runtime and slow-pace have impacted the movie on negative despite taking a huge opening on the first day. The Vijay Deverakonda starrer is making a decent collection at the box office. In the first weekend, the movie crossed the Rs 20-crore (all languages) mark worldwide.
Though the earnings were not match with the first-day collection, it was decent overall. After collection of Rs 7.45 crore on an opening day, the film saw a drop in the collection later.
The film collected about Rs 5.80 Cr in Nizam in three days. Rs 1.10 Cr from Ceded and another Rs 6 Cr came from Andhra. From the Telugu states, the film collected Rs 13 Cr in its first weekend. At the USA box-office, it grossed $700k (Rs 2.5 Cr early estimates) in its first weekend.
‘Dear Comrade’ has now been trimmed by 13 minutes. The makers should have done this before. Directed by Bharat Kamma, it featured Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika in the lead roles.
