Koratala Siva has a terrific track record of delivering big hits in the USA market. Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan’s films perform strongly in the USA. Ram Charan’s previous film “RRR” is the second all-time highest-grossing Telugu film in North America. Naturally, one would expect a minimum of $1 million gross from the first day for ‘Acharya’.
But, ‘Acharya’ underperformed on its first day in North America. The film grossed 818k dollars from premiere shows and Friday put together. More importantly, the collection on Friday seemed to be just about 150k dollars. Such a low amount for a biggie!
For various reasons, ‘Acharya’ has failed to create a strong buzz. The songs have failed to become viral. It got delayed. The response to the trailer was not great.
