‘Uppena’ has posted staggering numbers at the domestic box-office. Despite the newcomers playing in the lead roles, the romantic tale had garnered collections on par with a big star movie. It had raked in about Rs 24 crore in Telugu states in three days.
But the situation in the USA market is quite a contrast. The collections are anything but staggering. It is no secret that the USA theatrical business has not yet opened up. The Telugu audiences are not coming out from the homes due to the pandemic, and also the winter storm made the people remain indoors. It has collected about 170k dollars in its first weekend.

‘Uppena’ stars Vaisshnav Tej and Krithi Shetty. Directed by newcomer Buchi Babu Sana, the romantic tale received fairly average ratings from the critics. Except for the climax, it gave a sense of déjà vu, declared the reviewers. However, the audiences are liked the film as it has a terrific soundtrack by Devi Sri Prasad. The lead pair’s chemistry is bewitching.
