Akhanda 2 Update: Balakrishna and Boyapati cut remunerations

The sudden postponement of “Akhanda 2” a day ahead of its scheduled release, owing to legal issues related to the production house’s earlier financial disputes, has come as a major setback. To bring the situation under control, Nandamuri Balakrishna has stepped in to ensure that the film gets released as soon as possible.

Balakrishna had reportedly charged a higher remuneration this time, considering the strong business potential of the “Akhanda” brand and his successful combination with Boyapati Sreenu. The director too had increased his fee, even though his last film, Skanda, did not perform well.

Akhanda 2 budget escalation

The budget is said to have escalated to nearly Rs 200 crore. The film is also presented by Balakrishna’s daughter, M Tejaswini Nandamuri. Despite securing good theatrical and non-theatrical deals, the producers were already facing a deficit before the release. Matters turned more complicated when Eros International filed a case against the production banner in the Madras High Court, demanding the clearance of Rs 28 crore dues.

Legal issues to be cleared now!

To ease the financial burden and help the film release without further delays, both Balakrishna and Boyapati have reportedly agreed to cut a portion of their remunerations.

Here’s the reported remunerations for ‘Akhanda 2’
1) Nandmauri Balakrishna – Rs 45 Cr
2) Boyapati Sreenu – Rs 35 Cr

If the legal proceedings are sorted out as expected, the new release plan for “Akhanda 2” is likely to be announced soon.
