Akhil Akkineni was the original choice to play one of the lead actors in director Kalyan Krishna’s ‘Bangarrarju’, which was launched recently. But Akhil Akkineni reportedly declined to act along with his father in the film as he is busy shooting for Surender Reddy’s action drama.
Titled ‘Agent’, Akhil is playing a spy in the film. He is devoted to this Surender Reddy movie. Hence, he said he has no time to do a lead in his dad Nagarjuna’s movie. Thus, Nagarjuna roped in his elder son Naga Chaitanya for ‘Bangarraju’.
Director Kalyan Krishna has confirmed that they didn’t take Akhil in the film due to a clash of his dates.
‘Bangarraju’ has Krithi Shetty and Ramya Krishna as the female lead. The film is in progress.
