Andhra Pradesh: 100% occupancy for movie halls allowed

Rescinding the 50% occupancy limit for cinema halls, the Andhra Pradesh government today further eased COVID-19 restrictions. From today, cinema halls can allow audiences to the full capacity (100% occupancy).

The decision will help the Telugu film industry. Telangana government has not imposed 50% occupancy restrictions during the third wave of the coronavirus. Other south Indian states like Kerala, Tamilnadu, and Karnataka have long back lifted the 50% cap. But Andhra Pradesh took this long to issue new guidelines.

This weekend ‘Virgin Story’, Mohan Babu’s ‘Son of India’, and two other small movies are hitting the theaters. The movies will be screened to the full capacity in the theaters. ‘DJ Tillu’ which is running in the theater will be benefited now.

A new G.O with a hike in ticket prices is also expected shortly.
