Producer Anil Sunkar put a lot of money into Akhil Akkineni’s “Agent,” which was released in theaters in April of this year. The audience turned it down. The film ended up losing more than Rs 30 crore, and the distributor, Vizag Satish, is fighting Anil Sunkara in court over this money.
While Anil Sunkara was still reeling from the effects of “Agent,” he was dealt another blow with the release of “Bholaa Shankar” last Friday.
The film “Bholaa Shankar” has already been declared a failure. It is too early to tell how much money he will lose on this project. However, preliminary estimates indicate that Anil Sunkara will lose nearly Rs 100 crore on both “Agent” and “Bholaa Shankar.”
Although it is a huge sum, Anil Sunkara will bear it solely because of his financial strength as a result of his businesses in the United States. Even so, a loss of Rs 100 crore will be difficult for him.
