Annapoorani row: Nayanthara writes apology letter

Nayanthara’s Tamil film “Annapoorani” sparked controversy after its release on OTT platforms. Many cultural and religious organizations condemned the filmmakers for hurting Hindu sentiments. Soon after the controversy erupted, the film was removed from streaming platforms.

Now, Nayanthara has issued an apology for offending people’s feelings. She explained that her film was intended to have a positive impact on audiences, but that it may have hurt some.

Nayanthara played the title role in “Annapoorani”. The story revolves around Annapoorani, who aspires to be a chef, and the challenges she faces while pursuing her dream.

In one of the scenes, Nayanthara, a Brahmin girl, is seen performing Namaaz before preparing Biryani.
