Our readers were aware that Nagarjuna would be playing a special role in director Sekhar Kammula’s new film starring Dhanush. We broke the news a while ago.
The creators made it official today. On the occasion of Nagarjuna’s birthday today, the producers of #D51, actor Dhanush’s 51st film, announced that they “needed a powerhouse for their pan-Indian project” and who better to play that role than ‘King’ Nagarjuna.
They also stated that they are excited to “get this show on the road!”
Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna star in the film, which is billed as a drama with a political and social message. It will begin once Dhanush finishes his 50th film, which is currently in production. Suniel Narang of Sree Venkateshwara Cinemas LLP is bankrolling it.
