Amidst speculations that YS Jagan’s government is backing a particular panel in the ensuing Movie Artiste’s Association (MAA) elections, cinematography minister Perni Nani issued a clarification. He stated that the government has no interest in MAA elections.
“Neither AP government nor our YSRC party is supporting or showing enthusiasm in the actor’s body elections. We also want to say specifically that our CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has no interest in the MAA polls,” Perni Nani said in a video statement.
Actor Prakash Raj, who is running for the president’s post, thanked the government. “Thank you honorable chief minister YS Jagan Garu and honourable minister PERNI NANI garu.. much obliged #respect,” he posted on Twitter.
Manchu Vishnu and Prakash Raj’s panels are in the fray. The elections will be held on October 10.
