Director Atlee was to collaborate with Allu Arjun. While Allu Arjun was filming for “Pushpa 2,” “Jawan” director Atlee narrated a story to him. However, the project never materialized due to disagreements over the director’s massive Rs 80 crore remuneration.
Then Atlee dropped the project, and he pitched a multi-starrer story to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Reports suggested that the film will also include either Kamal Haasan or Rajinikanth, along with a Hollywood actor. Atlee’s vision is to make an action drama that is on par with Hollywood’s standards.
But the film is currently facing financial challenges due to an escalating budget, reportedly reaching Rs 500 crore. Amid these hurdles, there have been discussions about replacing Salman Khan with Allu Arjun as the lead to manage costs.
It is said that Atlee believes that Allu Arjun is ideal to headline this project after the star delivered a massive blockbuster, “Pushpa 2,” in the Hindi market. But there is no confirmation from either side.
Allu Arjun has already committed to making a film with director Trivikram, with plans to start it in April of this year.
