Ayesha Khan, who has recently shot to fame with her popular item numbers in Telugu cinema and Bollywood, is currently facing criticism on social media over a comment she made in a recent interview.
The actress, who featured in the hit song “Shararat” from Ranveer Singh–starrer Dhurandhar, spoke about the demanding two-day shoot and mentioned that she was not at her best as she was on her period during the filming.
While Ayesha intended to highlight the physical strain she went through, her statement did not go down well with a section of netizens.
Social media users were quick to troll the actress, with many pointing out that millions of women continue to work every day, often in physically demanding jobs even during their menstrual cycle. Some sarcastically remarked that she deserved a “Bharat Ratna” for dancing while on her period.
However, not all reactions were negative. A section of fans came out in support of Ayesha Khan, praising her professionalism and commitment to completing the shoot despite discomfort.
Ayesha Khan has earlier appeared in Telugu films and item numbers such as “Om Bush Bush” and “Gangs of Godavari.” While she had a steady presence before, it was the “Shararat” song in Dhurandhar that significantly boosted her popularity across industries.
