Venkatesh’s new film under the direction of Maruthi is in much demand among the business circles. The film is tentatively titled Babu Bangaram and its overseas rights were already snapped up by a leading distribution company for a good price. It is said to have brought in about Rs 2.50 Cr for the producers from the overseas rights.
It is big amount considering the fact that Venky is yet to prove his market strength in USA with a solo-hero release. Although Venkatesh’s ‘Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ and ‘Gopala Gopala’ did awesome business in USA, they are multi-hero movies.
Since ‘Babu Bangaram’ is being directed by Maruthi whose ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ has nearly collected 1.50 million dollars, the overseas rights of Babu Bangaram were sold for such a good price. If this movie clicks in USA in big way, Venkatesh’s solo hero movies would bring in more moolah to the producers.
