BO: Pathaan dominates, while Hunt falters

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ became a worldwide smash hit. The collections were fantastic in all regions, including India and abroad. Interestingly, the film set a new record for a Hindi film in terms of first weekend collections in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The collections in Hyderabad were exceptional. With ‘Pathaan’ receiving complete patronage from Telugu people, Telugu film collections suffered greatly.

A day after ‘Pathaan,’ ‘Hunt,’ starring Sudheer Babu, was released in theatres. However, ‘Hunt’ failed to capture the public’s attention and is a box office flop.

On the third weekend, ‘Waltair Veerayya’ did not add much to its kitty. “Veera Simha Reddy” was almost finished.

In India, “Pathaan” grossed Rs 270 Cr (nett). It grossed a whopping $9.5 million in the United States.
