Chiranjeevi named the Indian Film Personality 2022 at IFFI

Megastar Chiranjeevi was named with the Indian Film personality of the year 2022 at the International Film Festival of India. It was announced on Sunday in Goa.

The festival started today. Anurag Thakur, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, tweeted on Sunday that the megastar would be honoured as the festival’s personality of the year. Chiranjeevi has appeared in 154 films since his debut in ‘Punadhirallu.’ He is regarded as one of India’s greatest stars.

“The award is a recognition the nation gives to the much-adored megastar for his contribution to cinema, popular culture and socially significant artistic work,” the government said in a statement.

Union I&B Minister Anurag Singh Thakur congratulated the veteran actor, saying that Chiranjeevi has had an illustrious career spanning nearly four decades, with over 150 films as an actor, dancer, and producer.

This award has previously been given to Rajinikanth, Ilaiyaraaja, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Amitabh Bachchan, and others.
