Music director Devi Sri Prasad recently visited his ancestral village, Vedurupaka, in Andhra Pradesh and shared an emotional video reflecting on the memories and experiences that inspired the film.
During the village’s annual jatara celebrations, Devi Sri Prasad visited his family home, interacted with local residents, and took part in the festivities. Sharing glimpses of the visit on social media, he spoke about his deep-rooted connection with the village and its influence on Yellamma.
“Vedurupaka is the village where my father was born. Ever since my childhood, he would bring us here from Chennai to experience nature and rural life. We even built a house here so that our bond with the village and its people would remain strong,” DSP said.
He added that the village played a crucial role in shaping his understanding of culture, folk traditions, and spirituality.
“This is the place that taught me the beauty of our culture, folk arts, and spiritual traditions. The experiences I gathered here became the inspiration for Yellamma,” he explained.
Directed by Venu Yeldandi and presented by producer Dil Raju, “Yellamma” marks Devi Sri Prasad’s acting debut.
