Producer Dil Raju recently stated that Telangana people are less enthusiastic about films than Andhra people. When comparing the traditions of both cultures, he went too far by claiming that people in Telangana prefer “Tella Kallu and Mutton.”
This has garnered considerable criticism from Telanganites, and Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leaders have trolled him. Recognizing that his words had sparked political controversy, he has since given clarifications.
He made these remarks at the “Sankranthiki Vasthunam” pre-release ceremony, which took place in Dil Raju’s hometown of Nizamabad. He stated that he values his Telangana “Dawaat” culture and never intended to disrespect it. He expressed his apologies to those who felt hurt and urged everyone not to drag him into political slugfest.
“Sankranthiki Vasthunam” is set o be released on January 14, 2025.
