The Malayalam blockbuster “Drishyam,” starring Mohanlal and Meena, went on to become a landmark franchise with successful remakes in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The much-awaited third installment, Drishyam 3, is now gearing up for a summer release.
However, director Jeethu Joseph has made it clear that this will be the final chapter in the franchise. The filmmaker recently confirmed that he has no intention of taking the story forward beyond the third part, firmly ruling out any future sequels.
According to industry chatter, there is a growing sense of franchise fatigue, with even fans reportedly urging the director to bring the series to a definitive conclusion rather than stretching it further.
In Telugu, the first two parts were remade with Venkatesh playing the lead role. As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding a Telugu remake of Drishyam 3.
