Gangubai postponed: Rajamouli appreciates Bhansali

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bollywood flick ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ has been postponed. The film has moved to Feb 18 from January 6. Starring Alia Bhatt, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is Bhansali’s next release. The film’s rights were snapped up by Jayantilal Gada, who also bought the Hindi rights of Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’.

Gada reportedly convinced Bhansali to change the date of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ as it would not make sense as Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn also star in ‘RRR’. So, the film has been postponed to February 18, 2022.

Director Rajamouli appreciated Bhansali and Gada’s decision.

“The decision by Mr. @JayantilalGada and Mr. #SanjayLeelaBhansali to move the release date is well appreciated. Our heartfelt wishes to #GangubaiKathiawadi..:) (sic),” Rajamouli tweeted.

‘RRR’ is releasing in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam languages on January 7, 2022.
