Gopichand might be going through a bad phase as a star with a spate of flops but he doesn’t want to return to his old self of playing negative roles. At the beginning of the career, he played negative roles. In Teja’s ‘Jayam’ and Prabhas starrer ‘Varsham’, Gopichand played villain characters that went on to become huge money-spinners. After the hits like ‘Yagnam’ and ‘Lakshyam’ as the hero, he didn’t have to look back. However, there were rumors he has signed to play the villain’s role in Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, ‘Annaatthe’.
The film’s director Siva is a close friend of Gopichand. He also directed two films with Gopichand. This led to speculations.
But Gopichand has not only slammed the reports he said that he is not interested to play negative roles for the sake of it. “I am game for multi-starrers but not villain roles at this moment,” he said.
