Director Nelson Dilipkumar had earlier revealed that he initially wanted Nandamuri Balakrishna to make a cameo appearance in “Jailer”, alongside Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar. Balayya was reportedly considered for the role of an Andhra police officer, but the plan didn’t materialize.
For the upcoming sequel “Jailer 2”, Nelson and his team had apparently designed a more substantial role for Balakrishna. However, recent reports suggest that the actor declined the offer after reviewing the length of his part and the remuneration being offered.
While some industry insiders claim that the payment issue was the deciding factor, others find it hard to believe that Balakrishna — known for his camaraderie with Rajinikanth — would turn down a cameo purely over money.
The film is currently progressing at a brisk pace, with more updates expected soon.
