Kalyan Manthina and Bhanu Pratapa: Mithra Mandali is fun ride

Starring Priyadarshi and Niharika NM, Mithra Mandali is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on October 16. Directed by Vijayender, the film is presented by Bunny Vas and bankrolled by Kalyan Manthina, Bhanu Pratap, and Dr. Vijeyender Reddy Theegala. Ahead of the release, the producers opened up about their journey, creative process, and expectations from the film.

How the Journey Began

“Bunny Vas is a close friend. We’ve known and worked with him during our time at Geetha Arts on films like Kotabommali PS, Aay, Thandel, and Single,” the producers shared. “He had been carrying this story for a long time and asked us to listen to it. We instantly loved it — it’s non-stop entertainment from beginning to end.”

Though primarily busy with other business ventures, Kalyan and Bhanu were planning to launch a production house when Mithra Mandali came along. “We wanted to start with strong content, and this film gave us the perfect launchpad. We owe it to Vasu garu.”

On the Director & Script Process

Praising debut director Vijayender, they said, “He came to us with a bound script. He has worked with filmmakers like Anudeep and Kalyan Shankar, and his clarity in writing and execution is exceptional. It never felt like a first film.”

They also revealed their active involvement in writing. “We always stay creatively involved. We previously set up a writers’ room where stories like Aay and Thandel were developed. Until a script reaches a perfect stage, we contribute actively.”

First-Time Producers’ Experience

“Being first-time producers has been an enriching journey. We constantly brainstormed, debated ideas, and made decisions together. There were creative differences at times, but the goal was always one — to make the best film.”

Brahmanandam’s Surprise Song

“Brahmanandam garu’s role is one of the major highlights. The ‘Jambar Gimbar Lala’ song wasn’t part of the original plan. After completing the film, we felt there was room for a fun surprise. So we shot this special song with him — and it added tremendous energy!”

On Priyadarshi & Niharika’s Roles

Set in the fictional town of Jangli Pattanam, the film features quirky characters in highly relatable situations. “Niharika plays a witty and satirical role that fits her perfectly. When Allu Aravind garu saw her test for the role, he immediately approved.”

Releasing Amid Diwali Rush

“The festive season always has heavy competition, but audiences love strong content. Mithra Mandali will stand out as a wholesome entertainer for families and youth alike.”

Future Plans

“We want to explore all genres. After this comedy entertainer, we’re moving into horror. Regardless of budget or scale, content will always be our priority.”
