The inaugural World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) kicked off today at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally launching the event.
Megastar Chiranjeevi, Superstar Rajinikanth, Hema Malini, Mohanlal, and Mithun Chakraborty attended a panel discussion. The session was moderated by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.
During the conversation, Chiranjeevi reflected on the early days of his career. “When I began my career, the Telugu film industry already had stalwarts like NTR garu, ANR garu, Krishna garu, and Shobhan Babu garu. I wondered what unique quality I could bring to make a mark.”
“In 1977, while I was learning acting, I watched Mithun in Mrigayaa. His performance was so raw and real. It inspired me to keep things authentic and relatable. For action, I looked up to ‘Sholay’ and the daring stunts of Amitabh Bachchan ji. That motivated me to do my own stunts. And for dance, Kamal Haasan was my biggest inspiration. I studied each of them closely and worked hard to carve my own identity,” Chiranjeevi, said.
