Khaleja 4K Release: Sets second best record

Superstar Mahesh Babu and director Trivikram’s “Khaleja” was a super flop when it was released in theaters in 2010. Despite high expectations, the film was panned by fans and audiences at the time. However, it went on to gain popularity in the following years, especially after its television premiere. Over time, it has attained cult status.

The current generation of audiences, especially Mahesh Babu fans, have developed a special admiration for the film. It’s no surprise that it opened to massive collections yesterday, when the film’s 4K version (Khaleja 4K) hit theaters.

In its re-release, “Khaleja” collected Rs 4.22 crore gross in India on Day 1. This second best record among all the Telugu re-release movies after Pawan Kalyan’s “Gabbar Singh.”

The film dealt with the man-god concept and starred Anushka Shetty, with music by Mani Sharma.

Even in the USA, “Khaleja 4k” grossed more than $70k.
