Krish finalized for Kagana Ranaut's 'Manikarnika'

Months of speculation about Krish’s next career move has come to an end. It’s now confirmed that he will direct ‘Manikarnika’. Once again, it’s a historical biopic that the director is going to make. The film will tell the life story and heroic exploits of the great Rani Laxmibai, who was born as Manikarnika.  

Kangana Ranaut will essay the role of the legendary ruler and freedom fighter. It’s her dream project, which was to be directed by Ketan Mehta earlier. Things changed later and when the film’s writer, K Vijayendra Prasad, recommended to Kangana that she watch ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’, the talented actress was keen on teaming up with Krish. Thanks to her, Krish will helm the affairs for this Bollywood project.

Krish is a proven talent and so, the Bollywood actress’ choice is prudent. Also, he has a very good rapport with Rajamouli and the same may work to the benefit of ‘Manikarnika’, penned by Rajamouli’s father.  Rajiv Reddy, Krish’s friend and producer, will co-produce this costly venture on First Frame Entertainments. The title ‘Manikarnika’ has since been registered at Hyderabad’s Film Chamber.

It has to be seen if the film will be made into Telugu as well. After all, Rani Laxmibai is a household name here too and Kagana’s popularity is very huge.
