Laya: I choose the best among limited offers

Laya and Sivaji were once regarded as a successful on-screen pair, appearing together in films like “Missamma,” “Adirindayya Chandram,” and “Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila.” The duo has now reunited for “Sampraadayini Suppini Suddhapusani,” which is set for release this weekend.

During a recent media interaction, Laya spoke candidly about the kind of roles she wishes to take up at this stage of her life and career.

“I’m not particular that I must only do lead roles. If lead roles come, I’ll do them. But even if it’s a small role, I’ll accept it if I like the story and my character. The scope for female roles is limited, so I want to choose the best among what comes my way,” she said.

She also revealed that she will be showcasing a different side of her acting talent in the thriller “Vadhala,” where she plays the wife of Jagapathi Babu. Additionally, she is acting in a socio-fantasy film alongside Srikanth, directed by Nageswara Reddy.

“I’m trying different genres,” Laya added, hinting at a fresh phase in her career.
