A litmus test for Puri Jagannadh

Director Puri Jagannadh has been going through a bad phase. It has been a long time that he delivered a blockbuster. The last decent hit was NTR starrer ‘Temper’. He followed it up duds like ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’, ‘Loafer’, ‘Rogue’, ‘Ism’, ‘Paisa Vasool’, and ‘Mehbooba’.

Half a dozen flops have put him in a big financial mess as well. He is putting all hopes on ‘iSmart Shankar’ that is releasing this Thursday. The film stars Ram, Nabha Natesh and Nidhii Agerwal in the lead roles. Set in Hyderabad city, ‘iSmart Shankar’ is an action thriller that talks about a guy having two memories.

Will Puri Jagannadh bounce back with this? Ram Pothineni also needs a big hit. His previous films were no great shakes at the box-office.
