The 2020 dairy of Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) was launched today amidst high drama. The launch event was held at the Park Hyatt hotel in Hyderabad. In the capacity of honorary president Megastar Chiranjeevi made some suggestions. All issues about the association can be solved. No actor should create unnecessary controversy thereby degrade the Telugu film industry’s image, Chiranjeevi told the members.
Later, Rajasekhar, who is functioning as executive vice-president of MAA, came on to the stage. In his speech, he said he’s been facing problems in his family as he’s completely immersed in the activities of the association. There is so much discordance in the association which is leading to many problems, he said. He further added that the stress arisen from the problems at this association led him to a car accident.
At this point, senior actor Mohan Babu raised his objection to Rajasekhar’s statements.
“We cannot bury the issues under the carpet and behave as if everything is good. We should not keep silence. There are many problems. We are heroes on the silver screen but in real life, our voices are being suppressed,” Rajasekhar continued his speech. He also admonished Mohan Babu for trying to stop his speech.
With Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu and others had raised their objections to his speech, the actor got infuriated and staged a walkout. The event turned into a violent meeting.
An interdisciplinary action against Rajasekhar is likely to be taken.
