The post of MAA (Movie Artistes’ Association) president is not a constitutional post. Sky will not fall if the president of this association that has 900 Telugu actors as its members don’t work for a month. The Constitution crisis would not arise. But this association has been grappling with many issues from the last couple of years and we are witnessing some strange turn of events. The latest one is that actor VK Naresh, who has been elected as president of this association has now gone for leave for 41 days. Yes, “leave” for exactly “41 days” as he has a “tight schedule”.
Naresh in a tweet also thanked the disciplinary action committee of the association for accepting his “leave letter”.
So, he is on leave for 41 days, the committee has appointed another actor Benarjee as in his place as acting president. The committee consists of Megastar Chiranjeevi, Krishnam Raju, Jayasudha, Jeevitha Rajasekhar, Hema, Rajeev Kanakala, Siva Balaji, Anitha Chowdhary, Karate Kalyani, Suresh Kondeti, Edida Sriram, etc.
In other words, the controversial VK Naresh has amicably been made to step down from the responsibilities of the president. It must be remembered that senior actor Rajasekhar had made a hue and cry over Naresh’s dictatorial policies.
