National film awards for year 2018 will be announced next week. Our sources say, the awards jury has already shortlisted four or five Telugu films to consider them for the best film in regional language (Telugu). Ram Charan’s Sukumar directed ‘Rangasthalam’, Savitri’s biopic ‘Mahanati’ and Rahul Ravindran directed ‘Chi La Sow’ are top contender for this award.
Besides this, ‘Mahanati’ is said to be seriously considering for other mainstream categories. There are also other Telugu films like ‘Care of Kancharapalem’ that are being considered in other categories.
It remains to be seen which films would make it to final round.
