Mahesh Babu owned “AMB Cinemas”, a sprawling multiplex in Hyderabad, received notice from GST Council for violating norms. Recently, central government has reduced GST on ticket rates and all the theaters have to reduce the price of admission tickets. But
the officials found that AMB Cinemas had not reduced the price of tickets, thereby denying the benefit of reduction in tax rates to movie-goers.
Responding to this news, Sunil Narang, who is partner in the multiplex said they will meet the officials and explain that it was due to lack of proper communication. They will be implementing the norms and would also clear the dues.
